Leah’s smile dropped as she realised that she was being rude. Not that she could help it of course; imprinting pretty much stopped you caring about anything that had ever mattered to you. Leah stood up and walked over to Maya. She gave the woman a little hug and then looked at her.
“Look, Maya. I’m sorry I’m being… well a little bitch really… I can’t help it, honestly.” When Jerith walked through that door again, Leah hadn’t a clue what she’d do.

Couldn't help it? Really? Maya rolled her eyes a Leah gave her a little squeeze, which Maya did not return. "It's FINE." She said before Leah released her. Maya took a step to her left, closer to the stairs. She had to get out of there.
"I uh... have to go though. I was just coming by to drop off the bread." She lied. She was hoping to spend the afternoon catching up with her cousin but it was clear that was no longer on his mind. She smiled weakly before starting down the steps. "Tell Jerith I left the bread on the counter. He can call me later." She called over her shoulder before dissappearing down the steps.
She moved as fast as her legs could carry her down all ten stories and let out a sharp whistle for Darcey who barked once and jumped into the passenger seat. She flung herself into the car and turned it on, backing out of her spot violently and taking off down the dirt path in a cloud of dust. She wanted to get as far away from the tower as possible. Back to La Push and back to the beach.

Jerith was gathering his courage when he heard Maya's voice, raised in irritation. He heard the door slam and the sound of someone going down the stairs at a record pace. 'Damnit! She was leaving? He wished she would stay. Having her here might make whatever it was not happen again.'He flipped open his cellphone and punched in a quick text message: "Dunno what is going on...I'll call you later, sorry" . He added a smiley face to the end of the message and sent it to Maya's phone. He felt really bad about the way things had happened. He had wanted to spend the rest of the day with her, maybe she would want to use the spare hammock and stay the night. After a couple deep breaths he finally turned the light off and walked back out to the main room. He would talk to Leah, calmly. Figure out what had happened and...then what? He'd have to figure that out when it came up As he rounded the corner he saw her standing there, backlit by the sun shining in through the windows. Her skin was a flawless tan and her dark hair seemed to shimmer. Every other thought went out of he mind as he walked over to her.

Leah was about to run after Maya when Jerith walked back into the room. It was the scent that had first made her head turn in his direction, then when she saw him her heart missed a beat She clutched the door frame in case she fell for the third time. “Oh fuck.” She muttered, pushing herself forward towards the sink.
Then she vomited. Disgusting. She turned around and looked at Jerith. “Oh… sorry… M-Maya said to call her” Leah choked out before chucking up once again. Then she turned the tap on and washed the disgusting… thing down the drain.
“Jerith, I’m so sorry.” Leah knew she should leave. Bit she just couldn’t.

Jerith watched her when she truned back to him, still too stunned to realize what had happened. She was talking to him now, what was she saying? Maya? Yes, he needed to call Maya, but later.
"Leah...it's...ok. Look, let's go sit down and we can talk." He walked over and took her hands, gazing into her eyes and completely lost in them.
He knew that whatever had happened, she had felt it too. There was the bed to sit on, the beanbag could seat two, and the futon was comfortable enough.

Feeling Jerith’s hand in hers, Leah’s body almost jolted. She wanted to smile, cry, laugh, pass out and run away all at the same time. But most of all, Leah Clearwater wanted to kiss the man standing before her. The wolf girl had to literally force herself to be controlled. She kept a hold of his hands and looked over to the bedroom.
“Can we… In there?” She asked, almost smiling as some rather disturbing – or pretty awesome to Leah – thoughts crossed her mind.

His mind was practicly screaming at him not to give in,' That is a really bad idea, you just met this girl and you are already alone with her, do you really want to put yourself that close to temptation? '
"Yeah, come on." He smiled as he lead her through to the bedroom.
The window was open and a fresh breeze blew in through the screen. The bed was made, pushed into the corner of the room. Two plastic milk crates had been stacked on top of each other, the open side out, into a makeshift nightstand. There were books stacked in them; books on local flora and fauna, first-aid and emergency procedure manuals, and even a boyscout handbook. A plank had been laid over the top, holding a battery powered lantern and a battery alarm clock. There was an eyeglass case and some stuff for contacts, a novel with a scrap of paper sticking out to mark a page, and a flashlight.
On the far wall next to the bathroom door was a metal bar hung from the rafters with clothing hanging on it; uniform shirts and pants on one end, jeans and other shirts on the other end. A pair of boots and sneakers sat beneath on the floor.
Jerith sat down on the edge of the bed, not wanting to get too comfortable yet. He held her hand as he offered to have her join him, his eyes never leaving hers.

Leah’s heart pretty much jumped out of her chest as Jerith led her into his room. She breathed deep and regretted it as soon as the strong scent of her imprintee hit her nose and mouth. She had to close her eyes for about five seconds, trying to get control of the situating. But if Leah lost control, it could get a bit heated.
She sat down next to Jerith and kept her eyes locked with his. Then she waited for him to speak.
{sorry for short…}

"Leah..." he started to speak but then his mouth just hung open. He had no idea what he was going to say or ask her. He had never felt like this, about anyone. It couldn't be normal.
His mind was screaming at him to get control of himself. What if she was some sort of psycho? Or maybe a witch? He almost laughed at the thought. But maybe she was some sort of herbalist. A perfume made from the right plants could effect people around you, but that didn't make sense.
"Leah, you feel this too...right? Are you doing this?

Leah could’ve lied. She could’ve told Jerith that she had no idea what he was talking about. But Leah didn’t. If she had been sane at that exact moment, she would’ve lied. But she wasn’t. No, Leah Clearwater was not in her right mind, she hadn’t been since the moment she had laid her eyes of the beautiful man asking her questions.
“Yes, I feel it. I really do… but I’m not doing anything… it’s something that’s… extremely difficult to explain… I feel… I can’t tell you Jerith…” She looked down to the ground. Now she had to be really careful. Just one slip of the tongue could spill everything about the Quileute packs.

Jerith gave a low laugh, a sign of relief more than anything else. What ever it was that she couldn't explain, it was obvious that she was feeling what he was.
Maybe a long talk was what they needed? The heat he felt radiating from her skin was enough to make him realise that talking probably wasn't what she had in mind. Time to get control of this. There would be time to test the bed springs later. He shifted slightly and the springs creaked.
"It's ok. There aren't words for a feeling like this." That sounded strangly poetic for him. He held her hand and looked down for a moment. "Why don't you stay? I have the rest of the day off. Let's talk...take this one step at a time?"

Leah didn’t want to take things one step at a time, she wanted to… well jump into bed with Jerith and have his babies really. Of course, Leah could control herself enough so as not to force this guy into bed with her. The wolf woman nodded and looked down to the ground. Now she’d have to lie to him even more. “Uhm, there are some things I kinda can’t tell you.” This was all going to get damned complicated.
With her free hand, Leah twiddled with the whole created by her car in the black jeans she was wearing that day. Her shirt still showed quite a bit of her cleavage and her black Converse were slightly tattered. Her black hair was falling down, past her face. It grew so quickly and she decided to leave it this time; let it grow long.

"Hey, it's ok," he reached out and placed a finger under her chin and lifted her face to his. Somehow, it really was ok. He didn't care what she couldn't tell him, he still wanted nothing more than to be a part of her life. His eyes moved from the hole in her jeans up her torso, lingered on her open shirt and get lost in the curls of her long black hair.
"Smile for me Leah, it will be ok. You'll tell me when you are able." His smile was warm, trusting, and seemed to disarm barriers.

Leah beamed. She couldn’t stop herself, she threw her whole body at Jerith in an embrace that made Leah fall onto the bed, her arms still wrapped around Jerith. Now what would happen next was all up to future. Or up to Leah anyway. Wait, for Jerith’s sake, Leah hoped that it wasn’t all up to Leah or she’d be pregnant. Or… she’ll have lost her virginity anyway.
That sounded good.

Jerith didn't seem to care about waiting suddenly. He rolled towards the wall and lay next to Leah, his arms wrapped around her. The bedsprings groaned in protest. He pulled her face to his and kissed her fiercely. This new sensation between the two of them seemed to quell all his doubts or concerns about Leah.
When they finally parted for a moment he managed to gasp out, "You're right, talking sounds really boring."
