Carlisle made note of himself to watch out for this Jocelyn, best get Alice to watch for her.
Ancel brought up his family. Carlisle smiled. "Yes, we were overjoyed that Edward finally found his soulmate. Bella has been a wonderful addition to our family. She is gifted and is adapting quickly to her new lifestyle." He said vaguely referring to her gift of skipping the newborn years. "And Renesmee... yes she was unexpected, but is a blessing. It would seem she is not the first of her kind but is certainly a rarity. I'm sure you heard all about it." He said. Ancel certainly knew the whole story. No use reciting the whole thing over again unless he persisted. He chuckled "I never expected to become a grandfather."

He pulled a hand carved box from the desktop and took out a single, hand rolled cigar from the box. It smelled of a rich tobbacco; sweet and well aged. "A bit late for it, but congratulations are always in order. Especially for such rare occurances." He placed it in a tube and sealed the end before handing it to Carlisle. "I keep them for clients. You don't have to smoke it of course."
"I look forward to seeing them all. And Reneesme, I assume that she ages unusually fast? She looks like she could pass for someone in her late teens. I expect they will all be coming to the ball?"

Carslile took the cigar and thanked him putting it in his pocket. Of course he wouldn't smoke it, but he had a collection at home he would add it to. being a doctor he was often there for emergency deliveries and thankful fathers were always offering him cigars for taking care of their wives and new babies.
"The whole family is invited then?" He asked wanting to clarify it wasn't just an invitation for him and Esme. "Alice of course saw the invitation before I did and her and Rosalie have gowns ordered already. I would hate to disappoint them." He said with a chuckle. The invitation seemed innocent enough. Whether it was an appropriate event for Rennesme, he would leave that up to Bella and Edward.

"If they are able of course they are all welcome. I look forward to seeing them. I am planning an event for the community center soon for the teenagers. I shall see that Reneesme gets an invitation to that as well."
Ancel casually glanced at his watch. "I do hate to cut our time short, but I am expected on a confrence call shortly."
He offered a hand to Carlisle.

Carlisle knew this would end in a fight. Rennesme would insist on going. Edward would insist she wouldn't. Jacob would insist on going with her. It would not end well at all.
He stood up and took Ancel's hand firmly in his own. "Of course. I must get going as well." He said with a charming smile. "It was a pleasure. And I'll see you at the masquerade." He said making note to himself he would need to get a new tux. He hadn't had an occasion to wear one in ages, his was quite outdated by now.

Ancel showed Carlisle out to the elevator and turned back to his office. The young woman at the desk smiled to him as he walked by. "Sir, you have your teleconfrence in fifteen minutes." He nodded and thanked her for reminding him. As he got to his door he stopped and took her hand. She rose and followed him into the office.

As the pair rounded the corner to the office, the figure of a man with his back to the pair was framed by the large window. He wore a fine cut black suit, his hair slicked back with perfect care, and his hands covered with a pair of soft leather gloves. "I always did prefer talking face to face dear Ancel, wouldnt you agree...?" His thick german accent filled the room as he slowly turned, looking to the elder to him of course. Garetth was old, far older then the cullen brood, but he was still second when it came to Ancel. Part of him hated that with a passion, the fact that this causal man who masquarded around as something good was older then he. His eyes, covered by dark sunglasses landed upon the woman at his side and a thin smile crossed over his lips. "Unless you intent to share....I will give you a moment before we contuinue our little..meeting.."

Ancel stared at the man with a cold gaze. “Garretth. You should know that I do not take visitors whilst I dine.” The surprised secretary simply turned and walked back out of them room, closing the door behind her. Ancel crossed the room in a couple easy strides and offered his hand to the other man. Garretth and Ancel had always been on at least civil terms in their history together.
“It was perhaps not the wisest move, allowing the Cullens to know you are in town. I had hoped to keep them in the dark, for the time being.”

"Und was Sie denken läßt, dass ich Schnuren für Sie habe, um zu ziehen?" Garetth tone was smooth, calm as always. It seemed that nothing could upset him really, even the empty threatening tone held by Ancel. Garetth was the one always with a ace up his sleeve, his dear Italien friends who would simply do -anything- for him and his services.
"I was simply out for a drink, when the blonde one found me. I am not some dog to becon and call when you say no. I am here of my own reasons dear Ancel...you would be wise to remember that. You can toy with the Cullens all you wish. My agenda is none of your buisness. Now. What is it that you wished to so rudly speak over the phone about...like I was some lame client of yours?"
