Nan smiled as she finished off the large amount of bacon, setting it onto a plate with five eggs, toast, and a large glass of milk. As if on cue, the door down the hall creaked open. Standing, in all of his just waking glory, was Duncan. His hair was messed from sleeping, the frosted tips sticking in every direction possible. Dressed only in his boxer shorts (Blue with little lobsters on them..) he stumbled to the bathroom to take care of morning buisness, not even seeing Maya as he passed.
Nan gave a near girlish laugh, shaking her head as she placed the plate of food onto the table, at the seat across from Maya. "He's a bit slow in the mornings.."

Maya dropped her fork onto her plate noisily when Duncan stumbled out of his room. Not only was he there in the room (enough to once again make her stomach turn) but he was nearly naked. If he didn't hate her enough already, now he most certainly would. This was a mistake. A HUGE mistake. Actually a series of disastrous mistakes. One poor decision leading to the next.
She scrambled to pick up her fork and act natural. Though she was so nervous now anticipating him coming out of the bathroom and seeing her there in his kitchen that she wasn't hungry anymore. She attempted to stick a fork full of eggs in her mouth. She would apologize and leave as fast as she could. Hopefully Nan wouldn't hate her forever. She was the dearest old lady and she couldn't help her grandson was kind of a jerk sometimes. Her whole body tensed and she looked at her plate of food.

It was a moment, before the sink was turned on, and the first sounds of life came from the slumbering beast. Spitting, garrgling, and all other wonderful noises a man makes when waking. His bare feet padded along on the floor, rubbing his hands over his eyes as he stepped forward and smiled at Nan, then his eyes fell upon Maya.
He paused. Was this still his dream? With a quick shaking of his head, he pouted his lips, looking to her. She was more beautiful then the last time he saw her, she was warm, breathing, and safe. Certainly she had gotten the board he spent all night working on, and she was here to..? Thank him? Kill him? He wasnt too sure.
Better not to question good fortune, he sat at the table in a near zombie like state. Numbly he picked up his fork, taking a huge helping of eggs and shoving it into his mouth. At least that way he wouldnt stay something stupid.

Maya heard the door creak open with a mouthful of eggs (having forced herself to eat, though she felt ill). She froze mid-chew as Duncan looked at Gran and smiled and then saw her. He seemed shocked to see her there. She didn't blame him. She was even surprised she was still there. He didn't say anything, but at least he didn't vomit this time. She kept her large almond shaped eyes on him as he walked over and sat down in the chair next to her and started eating. She looked at him dumbfounded and then turned back to her plate continuing to chew the eggs in her mouth.
Should she say something? He had to know why she was there. Nan seemed to be watching them. She took another tiny bite of bacon to stall a little longer. Some of her long waves fell over her shoulder and she pushed them back with one hand. She looked down at her lap. "You could have left a note or something." fell out of her mouth before she could think. She cursed herself for being so rude. What as she even doing here? It was like something had pulled her here against her will. She took another bite of bacon.

Duncan coughed, spitting bits of egg into his plate as he quickly then grabbed a napkin and wiped his mouth. "What..what do you mean leave a note? Why are you in my house?" His outburst was stunted by Nan's smacking him with a dish towel.
"Enough of that bad mouthing, I invited Maya in..you need to hang around people other then Zak and his wife.." She scolded, dragging the dishtowle across the table and cleaning up the bits of eggs that escaped his plate. "Play nice..."
Duncan growled, but it sounded more like something that would come from Darcy then a man. A ripple shuddered down his back as he took a deep breath. "Fine, next time I'll let your cheap board float out to the ocean. I wont do you any favours."

She continued to looke at her food as he let her have it. She probably deserved it. Maya stopped eating and turned her head so she as looking right at his face after he said the last thing. He had growled. A deep rumble that sent at chill down her spine. Where the hell did that come from? Not to mention CHEAP board? Really? He was going to stoop that low?
She looked at him wide eyed, one wrinkle forming below her hairline. Her eyes drated around his face. His eyes were green. She's never noticed. For some reason it really hurt her that he was now angree with her. Did she blame him? No. Would she ast the same way if the talbes were turned. She'd probably be worse. The words fell out of her mouth before she could stop them though "Maybe if you hadn't have puked and ran at the sight of me THEN stole my board I wouldn't have had to follow you and nearly DIED!" She punctuated the last word sharply, but cursed herself internally for bringing that up in front of his Nan. She was being as bad as him now. Her eyes still bore into his face, wondering what he would do now.

Maya wasnt spared from the dishtowel ither, as nan slapped it across her head just as she did to Duncan. Her face was set in a scowl as she placed her hands upon her hips and looked at the pair. "You two play nice or I'll send Maya home. And Maya that's no way to talk to my grandson...now would you two care to exspalin what happened or are you just going to start flinging food at eachother soon?" She asked, pulling out a chair and sitting down, looking between the pair.
Duncan's forest green eyes watched as Nan struck Maya with the dishcloth. He knew it didnt hurt, but it still struck a cord deep withing him, the white wolf just lingering beneth the surface growling with irritation. The sight of her in pain upset him, the sight of her angry upset him, hell just the sight of her upset him. He knew that he messed things up, and that it was impossible to fix. A light sweat broke out over his brow as he shifted uncomfortable within his seat, his eyes avoiding Maya's for fear he'd do something stupid. "I went surfing yesturday. I met Darcy, and then Maya again. I got confused and grabbed her board when I saw a big swell coming, and I apparently ate something that didnt agree with me so I puked. Maya decided that I was a board theif and chased after me, the water was too cold for her so she slipped off her board and sunk. I saved her. And then I went back to the beach and swam out and got her board. I fixed it for her and gave it back. But apparently next time I'll let her be shark bait."

The dish towel snapped her head. Nan had good reflexes for an older woman. Maya flinched a little, surprised and embarrassed Nan felt the need to put her in her place too. Nan asked Duncan what had happened. Maya listened as Duncan gave his Nan a skewed version of the truth. He completely omitted the part where he looked at her and it was like an attack came over him. That the mere SIGHT of her made him puke. Maya turned from Nan to Duncan and looked at him, hurt that he was omitting details that let her looking like an idiot.
She stared at him for a second, her eyes boring into his face waiting to see if he would add to his story or if she was going to have to chime in. She shook her head before looking at Nan and quietly adding "What about the part where you looked like you were about to die when you saw me. And then tried to ESCAPE by stealing my board." She was perfectly calm now, just hurt.

Duncans face froze as she spoke. Was that what she thought of him? That he was just some freak who couldnt talk to girls? Well, she was right. But only her. If she could only understand how hard it was just to sit across from her like he was doing. How he wanted to reach out and hold her hand, or just let his fingers fall over her wrist. To move behind her as she sat and let his fingers run through her hair, his lips move across her shoulder and down her neck...
Clearing his throat, Duncan stood and mummbled a pardon before dropping his fork and moving back into his room. Such thoughts were not really the best to be having when dressed only in lobster boxers...
Nan sighed as she looked to Maya, but a slow smile crossed over her lips. "Dont let him bother you. Seeing he's more of a outsider here at the Rez none of the girls in school ever bothered with him, so he's not to smart around them. Just be gentle if you want to be friends with him..." She looked at his empty seat. "Or..just stay away. Decide what you want to do, and be sure you know what you want it to become. Duncan wouldnt do well with being strung along."

Maya stared back at him as he gawked at her again. It was strange, there was hurt in his face too, but something else... what was it? It was almost like he was looking right into her heart. That or he was undressing her with his eyes. She doubted it was either seeing as he practically loathed her. But there was till something and something inside of her wanted to know what it was.
He cleared his throat and went back into his room. She watched him make his way to the door, still in his boxers. She was a bit embarrassed as he closed the door, probably to put more clothes on. Nan laid the law down. Did she want to stay away? He was acting like an idiot, something she usually couldn't stand in a man, but something was still pulling her toward him. She nodded twice and looked down at the plate of food now getting cold. They needed to talk. She dreaded it with every inch of her being, but she couldn't go on like this. Ever since the beach she couldn't escape him. She waited to see if he would return in silence.

Nan gave a warm smile as she cleared Maya's plate from infront of her, taking a small tupperware container and pushing the remains into it, then sealing it up and setting it before her again. "For Darcy, or if you want it later. Duncan's just going to get dressed...then I'm sure he'll love to talk when he is more decent dear...dont worry. If I didnt like you I wouldnt have cooked for you. But I know what hard asses women could be...and although he wont admit it, Duncan's still very young in his heart."
In his room, his head was burrowed within his pillow as he screamed, silencing the cry. It felt like every inch of him wanted to just burst. The shuddering overtook him, as a faint sweat broke over his skin. No, he couldnt shift here. He had much better control then Zak and Rell, he was the emotional rock. He was the omgea. He was better then this. Swallowing harshly, Duncan lifted his head and looked to his reflection within the mirror. Tears streaked his cheeks, his face flushed violent red as he tried to rein in his emotions.

Maya nodded and took the tupperware container. "Thank you." She said softly. She was embarrassed she had behaved the way she did in front of Nan. But this whole mess was so damn confusing. Something was pulling her one way and all she wanted to do was run the other direction. But she knew deep down if she didn't put these feelings to rest by telling him she would never feel at peace again.
She leaned against the counter and held the container in her hands. It had been 10 minutes now since he had disappeared into his room. His door was still shut and she was beginning to wonder if he was coming out again. How long should she wait? She debating on leaving but decided to give it another five minutes. She bit her bottom lip lightly and shuffled her feet in her sandals. She tried to focus on mundane things like reminding herself to re-manicure her toes but she kept coming back to the look on his face at the kitchen table.

Nan didnt like to hovor, so seeing her chickadees were fed, she just gave a soft smile and moved from the table, humming as she returned outside to her gardening. Her greeting to Darcy was loud enough for Maya to hear, followed by her old laughter.
It was a moment before Duncan came from his room. He was dressed in army camo cut off shorts and a t-shirt. Not really the best clothing for October, but Nan was only in a nightgown and seemed to be fine. The Whites blood must have run thick. As his moss eyes fell upon her again, he took a deep breath and forced a bitter smile. "I'm, sorry Maya. I have...well I'm sure Nan told you. Anyways your boards back, and we dont have to talk to eachother ever again if you want...but. I'd really like to..try and be friends?"

She watched Nan go back outside and heard her and Darcey out in the yard. She breathed a sign of relief, but wasn't alone for long. Duncan came out and looked her right in the eyes. He gave her two options. She could walk away right now and never speak to him again. But how long would she still see him in everything? Wonder why he was acting the way he was? She knew it would haunt her. Try and be friends? No exactly what she wanted either. Ideally she wanted to get this off her chest and hopefully find the relief she was looking for. She looked down at her sandaled feet again.
"Look, I think we need to talk. I dont know if you want to do it here or go somewhere else..." She looked toward the window where you could just barely make out Nan's behind as she bended over a flower bed. "But there are some things I've got to say." This wasn't going to be easy and it was certainly going to be uncomfortable, but it had to be done.

Being the omega, he was the emotional punching bag for the rest of the pack. Not that they abused his place, but when things got bad for any member, he was always there to absorb the feeling. Take it away, so the stronger fighters could focus, and the fasteest runners could go without tripping. It was a thankless job, and it wore on him. Always the happy go lucky pup, grinning whenever he was in wolf form, and always supporting everyone. It felt like his own supports were knocked clear out when she said that they had to talk.
If she was leaving him, he was certain he would crumble. Running would loose its fun, food would loose its taste, the very air would seem thinner without her, even just sitting in his kitchen yelling at him. At least he could see her eyes, the fine skin, and the beautiful hair he wanted to kiss every strand of. When she walked into the room, it seemed the world stopped to stare at her. She was flawless, and whenever she moved, the spotlight followed her.
Taking a deep breath, Duncan came closet to the tabel, setting into where Nan was sitting as he placed his hand between them. "So talk."
