God he needed this. He couldnt remember the last time he was able to shift, run, and just enjoy the freedom of being a wolf. With all the crap with Maya, and Zak being with Corliss all the time..he found very little reason to be in his form. Not to mention Jacob and the 'real' pack as they liked to call themselves. Pah. The pack structure there was as weak as a newborns fawns legs. It was really just a joke.
His tongue was hanging from the side of his mouth, the brilliant snow white fur just a streak to the naked eye as he ran along happily.

A shiver ran down Zak's spine as he erupted into a flurry of shaggy black fur. He stood for a moment on all fours, getting his bearings as the final shake of transformation quaked through his body. He reached out with his mind and felt his brother, wrapped in the ecstasy of running, something Zak also did himself. He searched through his brother's mind to find out where he was then began running in that direction.
Good morning brother, how's the running? He spoke out through the pack mind as his feet pounded sightlessly agaisnt the ground, just a shadow blurring across the forest floor.

'Oh, Hey! Running is fine, hunting is the suck! Damned humans taking all the big bucks down..what are we suppose to eat now? The grandma's of the deer world?' He scoffed in his mind. Running was the main attraction of the day, but hunting was a close second. It seemed that Nan couldnt make enough food for him even still, so he often hunted while in form, just to keep the grocerie bill down.
Skidding to a hault, he waited around for Zak to catch up, knowing it wouldnt be too long for that to happen. Lowering his head, he sniffed at the dirt, his ears settling back against his head as the moss colored eyes looked through the woods. 'Zak, we got company...'

Zakel chuckled in his mind as Duncan commented on the lack of deer in the woods that was worth hunting. I guess we're stuck with Corliss' cooking. Though Nan has some culinary skills herself. He pounded through the forest until he reached Duncan. He didn't need to sniff to know what it was that Duncan smelled. His gaze followed Duncan's and he crouched down slightly, his frame going rigid as his lips curled back revealing a row of white pearly daggers, a deep growl escaping his throat.
And here I was thinking we were going to have an easy night. His glowing yellow eyes scanned the dark forest for the source of the sent.

I havent met any of the others from the packs before..have you?" Duncan asked, lifting his head and scratching his massive paws over the scent, spreading it out and lessening the intensity. He knew of the other pack of shifters that roamed the woods, the first pack. How they managed to never cross paths before was beyond the white wolf, but teh woods were large, and alot of the time the scents were washed by the rain before anyone had a chance to discover them.
'I'm certain it cant be that bad, just let the Alpha's talk and were good right?' Duncan asked, looking over to Zak and bringing his head down lower then his, the massive ears set back upon his head as he panted.

Zakel's lips uncurled but his body remained ridged. I'm more unhappy on the fact that they're so close to the house where Corliss and I live. Normally shifters stay away from territory of other shifters. I don't know if it means that something is going on or that there's just a lone wolf wandering the area. Either way, I don't like having unstable shifters around Corliss. He sniffed the ground again then bumped into Duncan signaling for him to relax.
Being an Alpha I can talk to other Alphas, but I've only ran into other packs on a few occasions. Before our packs were even formed. Some packs can be a little...unpleasant.

Even in her human form, Leah could smell the other shape-shifters. They were close. Too close for her liking. She jumped out of her bedroom window and bounded down the lane. In the bushes she stripped down to her naked body and shifted mid run. She ran faster than she really could, making her feel tired quite quickly, even though they could generally run for days.
As she reached the two wolves, she bard her teeth and snarled. If they attacked, she would try to fend them off, but she didn’t have much of a chance. It was two against one and Leah wasn’t ready to fight as her leg was still healing. She crouched down, her teeth still bared and growling up at the new comers.
Of course, they couldn’t hear her when she said; ‘Get away from me and my family.’ [/size]

Jacob was just hitting the edge of the pack territory when he caught Leah's mind voice. The shift of the wind and the scent was enough to realize something wasn't right. He stopped and took off again, back the way he came and threw leaves up in his wake, running back towards her
'Leah, I'm coming. What's going on? Are you ok?' This was the reason he should be around more often, not be staying with the Cullens. Not only could his dad use the help around his house, but it could be a huge benefit to the cohesiveness of the pack.

‘Two new wolves. I donno if they’re looking for a fight or what.’ Leah didn’t want the two shifters to attack her house. If they were trouble makers, she’d do everything she could to keep them away. But it seemed like Jacob was coming, so until she got there, she kept her ‘I don’t wanna fight’ stance.

Jacob broadcast something like a mental smile. He didn't usually live for fighting, actually he prefered not to when he had a choice. He knew Leah was of a like mind, but that was no gaurentee these two weren't. 'If they want to fight, run towards me, we will stand together.' This was the Jacob that was the pack Alpha; all buisness when it came to the safety of his friends.
Jacob stopped as he crested a hill and let out a long, loud howl. It was a warning to the shifters to be aware, and to call for the other pack members. He doubled his speed, closing in on them.

Seth sat on the porch of his house in his human form. His tall, gangly build looked a teeny bit awkward as it sat on the wooden base. He sensed some other shifters in the area, but oddly did not worry. He did become curious however. He stood up, went inside the house and scribbled down a note for Sue telling her that he would be out for a bit - just in case she came home while he was away.
Mom,
Went out for a bit. Be back soon.
Seth.
P.S. We're out of bread. : )
the note read. Seth placed the note on top of the counter and walked into the living room and stripped off his clothes; He burst into his bulky wolf form, a tall and long sandy-colored wolf and ran to where he sensed the unfamiliar wolves, Leah and Jacob. "Hey. Who are the new people?" he asked through his mind.
<<< sorry for short; i have no muse right now. >>>

Jacob was closing in on the strange wolves and Leah when he heard Seth chime in. 'Seth, we are going to talk to them for now. Start this way, but be careful. There may be more out there.'
When he came out into the clearing he was right next to Leah.

Duncan was nearly in hysterics on the forest floor, a grin crossed over his large maw as he watched the smaller female wolf put on quite a show, growling and snapping at the pair as if they were bloodsuckers. He found it all rather amusing, and was always the one to see the lighter sides of a situation. But as the second wolf, the large russet one came into the clearing his dog smile changed into a seriouse face.
No teeth were bared, his ears were perked forward in curoisity, tail wagging just slightly. His body posture showed that he was no threat what so ever, just curiouse. He hoped that Zak had the sense to see they were outnumbered. 'Wow, guess it was about time we all ran into each other huh big dog?'

Zak didn't respond to Duncan's thought, he was more concerned at the safety of his brother and judging as to whether or not he would be able to get to Corliss in time to get her out of trouble if things turned sour. He was never one to go looking for a fight, even more so now that he imprinted. He took a step protectively slightly in front of Duncan, not enough to insult his capability in a battle but enough that he would be able to intercept any attacks before they reached them. Duncan was a good fighter but Zak was strong, even for a shifter.
He knew that there were more of them out there, it was obvious by the way they held themselves, reaching out with his mind he couldn't feel anymore of his pack members, it was just the two. Zak lifted from his rigid crouch as the second, brown wolf entered the clearing and held himself proudly, his head held high. Relax, no need to over react here, we mean no harm.

Jacob cast a look over at Leah, as if he was wondering what had just happened. 'Diplomacy?' He studied the pair, knowing they might have a fair chance in a fight. They were both bigger than Leah, but neither was his size. Time to talk.
'So it would seem. I am Jacob, this is my second, Leah. I trust that you are not here to cause trouble.' He made sure to come across as serious. Things were hard enough around here without the fighting between shifters and vampires flaring up again.
