Maya was about to head toward the spring when she saw Leah dash off out of the corner of her eye and heard her wretch. It smelled bad but not THAT bad. Maya frowned and turned around. She didn't want to crowd her. She knew how embarassing throwing up could be. Instead she called from a distance. "Uh.... You ok Leah?" She bit her lip and squinted so she could see Leah hunched by a tree. She had never been around people who puked this often. It was the oddest thing.
Darcey skipped around them in a wide circle sniffing trees and chasing birds.

Any human wouldn’t have vomited. But Leah wasn’t fully human and even in human form she could smell any scent extremely well. That smell had literally clogged up her nose and it was all she could smell. But after a few breathes, the wolf-girl got used to it – sort of – and walked back.
“Mm, sorry ‘bout that Maya…” She muttered, ten looked over at Darcey. At least he was having fun with the stench.

Maya shook her head. "It's fine. Are you sure you're ok?" She asked, concerned Leah might actually be sick. "I can drive you home if you want." She said remembering she had not seen another car parked out by the road. If she couldn't wait for Darcey to take a quick jump in the spring she could just pop the top down and put him in the back. The wind would keep the smell away from their noses long enough for her to get Leah home.
{OOC: Sorry so short. Have to make some lunch.}

Shaking her head, Leah smiled reassuringly. “Nah, it’s all fine now. Don’t worry. We’ll wash him and I’ll walk back, it’s honestly not too far from my house here.” Leah grinned. It was a while to walk back home, but when you’re in your wolf form and running at high speeds unimaginable to other animals, the time was constantly on your side. Leah stepped over a fallen tree and tutted.
“So many fallen trees now…” She muttered, wondering if it was the work of the blood suckers. Maybe they were all having sex-fun in the woods and breaking down the trees. Leah stifled a laugh at the horrible thought of any of the vampire pairs making love.

Maya frowned a little but shrugged and pressed on. Leah was strange, but at this point she was the closest thing to a friend she had. To push her away so quickly would be a shame. As they neared the spring Maya let out a sharp whistle and motioned to the cool water when Darcey looked her way. In a spit second he was dashing toward the pool, the message clearly received. He didn't like the ocean, but a still, clear spring like this was right up his alley. Maya laughed heartily as Darcey leapt into the water, mouth open so he could grab a mouthful of water when his face was submerged.

Leah sighed in relief as the dog ran towards the spring. Now she was going to confront Maya about this Duncan dude. Leah wanted to know as much as she could about him. Although she may not want to talk to her about it, and Maya may even feel a little creeped out by the fact that Leah was so interested in the guy. She decided to go with the girl talk.
“You mentioned Duncan a little earlier, right? Is he a hottie?” Leah said with an eyebrow wiggle and a small smile that indicated she was trying to find out whether Maya was into this dude.

Darcey swam around in circles, chasing little fish too small for Maya to see in the spring. Maya made a mental note of their location so she could bring Jerith back sometime and he could take a specimen sample from the spring for his records.
When she heard Leah bring Duncan up again a knot rose in her chest. Leah was so intent on finding out more about him... was this girl talk? Or was Leah into him too? Maya felt a tingle of protectiveness in the bottom of her heart. Was he a hottie? Maya's tan cheeks flushed a little "I don't know.." She said shuffling a foot in the wet dirt. "He's not um... well he's different looking than most guys on the res..." She said with a shrug thinking of his tousled blonde hair, deep green eyes and surfer good looks. She flushed deeper and smiled at how ridiculous these thoughts were. She snapped out of it, hoping not to give away her thoughts. "He's certainly drinking the same radioactive water as all the other guys our age though." Maya said rolling her eyes. "I mean he's as massive as all the otehr guys."

With a smile, Leah knew this was an imprint. The way Maya flushed as she spoke, and flushed even further when she was, no doubt, thinking about his looks. Suddenly she realised this was putting Maya in huge danger; Leah knew damn well that Shifters weren’t controlled and just anger can make the rip out and attack. She shivered as she thought of some huge wolf ripping away at Maya. No way would she let this happen.
“H-how odd…” Leah shuffled a little and bit her lip. She wasn’t a short-ass herself and she looked over to the dog playing in the water. “Where’d you meet him?” She asked, not looking to Maya. She was afraid that if she got too worried then she’d let slip on the secrets of most of the guys ‘round the Rez.

Maya was relived Leah didn't press further on his looks. She didn't know what she would have said to elaborate. So this was "girl talk". She supposed it wasn't bad. It was nice to be able to get some of this out to someone, even though she didn't feel like she could disclose everything without sounding insane.
"Down at La Push beach." She said with a shrug. "It started of well enough. Darcey really took to him at first. THEY got a long fine." She said a little bitterly, remember how things did a complete 180 once he saw her. It was all so strange. And as furious as she had been she still couldn't get him out of her head.

Ah, so he imprinted on her then wanted to leave her alone. Maybe he was dumb enough to think that an Imprint can be broken by simply staying away from the person. Leah almost laughed but covered it up as a cough and rolled her eyes.
“Men! You can’t live with ‘em, can’t live without ‘em.” She knew this because she was surrounded by freakishly large men all the time. It was kind of strange how Leah just hung around all these guys all the time.

Maya burst out laughing hysterically. She couldn't help it, but Leah's comment couldn't fit their encounter the other day any more perfect. The way he nearly killed her when she followed him into the freezing water without her wet suit and gone into shock. And then the way he saved her life by scooping her up in his massive, smoldering (literally) arms in an almost super human way.
"I-I'm so sorry..." She said bending over to help regain her composure again. Dacrey's wet body came bounding over sensing her distress and started circling her knees. She gasped a little laughing an then Maya felt her eyes start to well up again. She was laughing and crying at the same time, her body convulsed. She was such a mix of strong emotion. Attraction and disdain at the same time. She had been holding it inside and now it was pouring out. "I j-just need a sec-second..." She said holding a hand to her eyes and the other on her knee.

Leah automatically felt uncomfortable. She wasn’t used to this kind of thing. Sure, she’d been real upset about Sam, but she’d managed to vent it through anger. Most of the time. This was seriously scaring her and she had no idea what to do. She didn’t know if she should comfort her friend or just try and ignore her. Leah stood there, half bent down, she looked kinda weird, but she hadn’t the faintest idea as to what she was going to do.
“I, uh… Take me to him.” Leah said, firmly. She took a grip of Maya’s arm and instantly threw herself back. Shit, shit, shit, shit! Surely Maya would notice how hot Leah’s skin was to touch. She bit her lip and felt like the dumbest person in the world. “Do you know where he lives?”[/b] She asked, biting her lip whilst speaking.

Maya was starting to collect herself, stuffing the emotions back down inside when Leah said it. Take her to him? What was she thinking? Maya looked up at her with her big brown eyes full of panic. "What?! No!" She said shaking her head her eye blotchy and wet. "I mean... No! The last thing I n-need right now is to see him again!'
She fell back on her butt in the soft dirt and buried her face in her knees, wiping her eyes dry. "He hates me anyway..." She said, her voice muffled. It was clear he never wanted to see her again, and she would give anything to make that happen for him. The last thing she wanted to do was show up at his house with Leah in tow.

Sighing, Leah looked across the spring. “If you see him, maybe you’ll feel better. And, he doesn’t hate you. Damnit, Maya, he’s head over heels for you. He can’t stop thinking about you and-“ She’d really done it now. She swore vigorously in her head and kicked a rock into the spring. She’d really gotten herself in the crap now.
“Well, I’m just guessing. Some guys have unusual ways of showing it.” Leah gushed out, trying to cover up her little rant that could have gotten so far, if she hadn’t stopped herself, that she could’ve blown everything about the Shifters and Vampires in Forks. She sat down next to Maya and took out a necklace. It had some tooth on it; her mother had given it to her.
“Uh… look at this. It’s kind of my comfort thing. Yeah, you can’t hug it or anything, but when it’s ‘round my neck I feel warm and fuzzy inside. Maybe you could try getting something like that. Let your stress out as well, ‘cause if you do this again on a street, damn girl you’re gonna look real weird.” Leah chuckled.

Maya wasn't really listening to what Leah was saying, but the sound other voice just talking was soothing. She heard her mention Duncan, something about him not hating her and a necklace. Her breathing slowed and she wiped her eyes on the back of her hands. Her head felt surprisingly clearer, like she had poured out all her bottled up feelings on the forest floor and was now sitting in it.
She smiled a little at Leah's last comment and found herself let out the smallest laugh. She was right, if this happened down town or in front of anyone else she would look insane. Best to leave it out here. "I'm so so sorry." She said not wanting to look Leah in the eyes, she was so embarrassed. "I don't know what's wrong with me." She shook her head.
