Emmett’s hand never left his wife’s all the way home. Although he was surprised that Rosalie had not snatched her white hand away from him, he liked the feel of their skin making contact. She was pissed off and he knew it, she had every right to be. Really, nothing had happened and – hopefully – nothing would have happened. Apart from Emmett losing his temeper and attacking Garetth, which would need Rosalie, Carlisle and Esme to hold him back together.
Snapping back into reality, Emmett decided that he had suffered the silent treatment long enough and tried to make some conversation. He pushed the brakes instantly, jerking the two vampires forward. Then he received a lot of horn honks as people passed the jeep. Emmett ignored the arrogant humans and turned to his wife.
“If you want, I’ll drive you all the way back. If it will make you happier, because I can’t stand this.”

Rosalie never reacted to Emmett's hand as it was in her own. All she did was stare blankly through the windshield as Emmett sped through the streets. She was very pissed and anyone near didn't have to be able to sense her emotion to tell, it was too obvious.
Rosalie jerked forward as Emmett hit the brakes. She snapped her head towards him. It was rare that she got mad at him -with her other siblings, well, that was a different story- but that was changed as of now. She wasn't glad that he took her away from Garetth, but it honestly wasn't like she liked him. But, she was mildly curious at his personality and lifestyle. She was determined to meet up with him sometime soon.
Rosalie shook her head, "No. I know it would upset you, so I won't ask you too." she replied to him, no matter how much she wanted to go back, "I'll pass for now."

Emmett floored the accelerator and the car jerked a little again, then made a strange sound before moving again. “Fine then,” He muttered as the car started gaining speed rapidly. His hand left his wife’s and both were as if they were stuck onto the wheel. He was fixated on the road, even though he didn’t need to be. Emmett’s grip on the steering wheel was dangerously strong and his knuckles were turning whiter than they usually would have been.
Now, Emmett had no reason to be pissed off at his wife. No, he wasn’t pissed off at her anyway. He was so angry at himself and wished he hadn’t gone and interfered and fucked everything up. Rosalie probably wouldn’t speak to him properly for the rest of the day, and maybe not the next day either. As a car in front of him stopped at a traffic light, Emmett swerved round it and received another honk from at least ten other cars. This time, instead of ignoring it, he shouted abuse back at them.
As he looked out of the back of the car to shout abuse, he saw the mirror he had bought about half an hour ago for his wife. He sighed. Why hadn’t he just let Rosalie believe that he had bought her lie and gone home. Then none of this would’ve happened. Emmett reached into the back seat and pulled the mirror off. Then he passed the mirror to his wife. Then he clapped his hands and the lights flickered on. Another clap and they flickered off.
The mirror was only small, but it was in the shape of a heart and Emmett had placed one of his favourite pictures of Rosalie and himself in the corner of it. He had done that so that every time his wife looked in the mirror – which was a lot – she would be reminded of how happy she made him feel. Apart from now anyway. But it was his fault that he felt like a heap of shit, even though Rosalie was being an unforgiving, stubborn woman. If Edward were there, he’d probably add in an ‘as usual’ and try to lighten everything up. Unfortunately, their brother was not present at the time and therefore the situation stayed the same.
{OOC: I think that’s the longest post I’ve done on here, XD}

Rosalie jerked back into the seat once more. She didn't reply to her husband, she may have probably snapped at him, so she kept her trap shut. She moved her hand back into her lap and joined it with her other one. She noticed his tight grip on the steering wheel but didn't say anything. If he was to snap it off, then she could fix it [easily]. Plus, that would be a great distraction for her as her temper fused up once more.
Rosalie was too pissed off to speak. She doubt she would speak to anyone for the rest of the day. She only planned to answer a question when she was to. She was determined to find whatever the hell was wrong with Garetth. She didn't know why they responded badly to her being near him. It annoyed her, she never was treated like a child and she was most definitely not going to start now. She let out a breath then warned Emmett as he yelled at the other humans, "Emmett..."
She cocked an eyebrow as he handed her the mirror. She was a bit confused at first, wondering what it was. But after she looked at it for a while she found out what it was. She smiled as it lit up and dimmed off. She looked over at him and searched for his eyes, "Thank you." she muttered, knowing he would hear her. She placed her granite hands around the mirror carefully and looked at the picture and smiled at the vivid memory of the day it was taken.

Emmett nodded, his grip on the steering wheel still dangerously close to snapping the plastic. “Your welcome.” He replied in a monotone that made it sound like he didn’t give a damn about anything that was happening. But if Rosalie was looking at his face, she would see the face of a vampire who wanted to let tears leave his eyes but was, of course, unable to.
The grip on the steering wheel started to get a bit to much and he heard a small crack. Emmett rolled his eyes and loosened his grip by a tiny fraction and carried on driving at an insane speed. He’d get the occasional hoot when he cut someone up or drove past them at double the limit, but b the time he had driven past where Bella’s father Charlie Swan’s house was, people had given up and just let Emmett through. He showed no intention of slowing down and therefore people just couldn’t be bothered anymore.

Rosalie let a unfamiliar frown spread across her face at his tone. She said nothing and turned her attention away from him and onto places around the car. She tried to focus on something else, anything else, but failed drastically. The look on her Emmett's face was heart-wrenching, and she couldn't help but think she caused it. She frowned more and looked out the window.
Her attention snapped back to her husband as the steering wheel cracked. She sighed with relief, silently thanking the vampire strength so that she could take her mind off of the previous scene and focus on ways she could fix the steering wheel. She wasn't bothered at all at the speed her husband was driving, she had been in a car with Edward who drove insanely fast and she did herself.

Emmett carried on driving. He started to slow down a little and the grip on the wheel loosened as he calmed down. Now he could actually think straight because his rage caused by himself had more or less vanished. They were nearing the Cullen Residence now and the next left would take them into the forest lane.
But on the next right, Emmett turned down it. Then he took another turn right and sped down the road. After a few minutes they were out of Forks again.
{BLAH! Sorry for short.}

Rosalie raised an eyebrow as Emmett missed the turn. It wasn't like him to miss the turn. He knew where it was, that's for sure, she knew for a fact. She didn't know where the hell he was taking her and grew questioned, "You're not stupid, so I know you didn't miss the turn; where are you headed?" she asked. She looked around at the surroundings and could not make anything of it. She made a guess that they weren't in Forks no longer.
{ No problem. Gah. Now I've got it! XD}

“Port Angeles.” Emmett replied in the same monotone as he had replied to his wife with earlier. The road they were driving on was pretty straight and he decided to have a look at the crack on the steering wheel. It wasn’t too big, or deep and would be easily fixed. When Emmett looked up, he realised the car had moved over to the wrong side and swerved to avoid a car, cursing under his breath.
{UUUUGH, it’s contagious}

Rosalie raised an eyebrow again. Port Angeles? Why? “Why?” she echoed her thoughts. She couldn't think of a logical reason why he would take her there. Well, at least right now. Why would Port Angeles do anything to help make amends in this situation. Though, truly, the tone he was using hurt. It was too foreign coming from his voice and it bothered her. Where was her happy-go-lucky, carefree monkey man now?

“Because we are.” Using exactly the same tone as he had used before, Emmett replied to his wife’s question. He didn’t really know why himself either, but something was drawing him to Port Angeles and he didn’t know what. It could probably wait, so he asked; “You want to go home?” He asked. If it wasn’t common logic, the tone he was using wouldn’t have shown it was a question, more of a sentence.
Emmett was only acting like this because he was angry. Yes, he was still angry at himself and wished he could somehow go back in time and stop himself from going to get Rosalie from Garetth. Then everything would be okay, she’d probably be home by now or something. But Emmett was stupid enough to go there and not even call Alice. Yeah, he should have called Alice…
{Bit longer this time =D}

Rosalie sulked back into her seat. She glared through the window at his response. God, had she really upset him that much? He hardly ever used this tone, especially to her of all people. She couldn't tell that it was a question, she thought of it as a smart-alec retort, so she remained silent. But a low, guilty murmur did slip out, "No..." She wasn't used to this tone, given how rare it was, so she leaned back in the seat further. She knew it was a bit childish, but at the moment, she wished she had said "Yes, I want to go back to Seattle." instead of agreeing to stay with him. Though, at the time, she thought being with her mate was what she needed. But apparently that was wrong if he was feeling the same way she was as well.
Rosalie had cooled off a bit. Hell yeah, she was still pissed at Esme and Carlisle, but she would deal with them as soon as they got home. Rose was not happy with how they butted in on the exchangement. They better have a damn good, legitimate excuse for butting in. He didn't seem too harmless!. She vented inside her mind. And she already had a back-up plan. She would go to Edward asking if he would be so kind and do one little thing for his darling sister, to read their parents' mind to see what he could configure about Garetth. She demanded to know and was determined she would, one way or another.
{ Me too! Whoo! -cheers- }

Emmett was starting to wonder why he was being so horrible to his wife. On the next turning into Port Angeles, he parked on the side of the road. Then he turned to face Rosalie, who wasn’t looking at him, of course. He gently pushed his hand into hers and… well there came the face that appeared when a vampire tried to cry. “Rosalie, I am so sorry. I’ve been treating you like you’ve done something wrong for the last twenty minutes and I’m really sorry. I shouldn’t have gone an interfered with you and Garetth and… I’m really sorry, I just can’t stand this not talking thing…”
Now, Emmett’s voice was full of the emotion he had been holding in for about five minutes. He was trying to catch Rosalie in the eyes. Emmett was still…”crying” if you could call it that anyway and it felt really weird. He’d never, ever cried as a vampire before. This just felt so odd and… horrible really.

She noticed him turn onto the side of the road. She still did not look at him, it would break her non-existent heart too much. She looked down at their hands as he put his in hers. She looked at her husband, golden eye to golden eye. She wished she wouldn't have. His pained face made her want to burst into tears. It wasn't like it was during his change, which was more of a physical pain, but it was more evident through his emotions. "It's okay. Don't blame yourself, I shouldn't have wandered off to Seattle and follow my curiosity to Garetth." she replied, still in a bit of sorrow. But she was happy that they were talking again. "It was as if I was a stupid, newborn again." she responded, chuckling bitterly, her eyes drifted to the floor of the jeep. Rosalie looked at Emmett deep in the eyes. She didn't have to be Jasper to sense how bad he felt. It broke what was left of her heart into little, tiny pieces as if they were smashed onto the floor. Where was her big teddy-bear now?[/blockquote]

Relieved that they were talking again and Rosalie wasn’t going to ignore him, he pulled his wife into a huge hug. He kissed the top of her head and almost smiled, although he was still feeling bad. “You weren’t like a stupid, newborn. You were just being Rosalie. The Rosalie I love and will cherish forever.” Emmett squeezed his wife and wouldn’t let go of her. He was just so happy that he didn’t have to be really angry anymore and Rosalie was going to talk to him and he was going to talk to her. Yes it felt so good. One of Emmett’s happiest moments.
When Emmett finally let go, he kissed Rosalie on the cheek and leaned back in his seat. “So… do you want to go shopping? I saw a jacket I know you’d like.” He smiled and took Rosalie’s hand in his once more.
