Edward had organized with his wife to meet in their meadow. This place held many memories for Edward, most of which involving Bella and the time he had shared with her as both a human and a vampire. He could almost feel her touch against his cool skin as he remembered their first kiss that had lasted only a few moments. They had been extremely careful – well, Edward had wanted to be careful, Bella had simply thrown herself at him and seemed to not understand why he had wanted to be careful.
And that was how they had obtained the wonderful child that is Renesmee. And their daughter was the object of the conversation Bella and Edward were to have in this meadow. The clouds were joining together above the canopy that was the leaves on the trees. He realised that the rain would soon be coming, and Edward did not mind. He enjoyed the rain.

Bella flung herself through the wet forest. She loved running. Now that she had learned how to harness and control her power she was a good runner. Not as good as Edward, or her in-laws, but still good. The trees flew past her as she leaped over fallen trees and rocks. The end of the treeline came into view quickly. She inhaled a little. She could smell her Edward waiting for her in the meadow. Their meadow.
He had asked to meet her there. As the treeline came closer she slowed to a stop right before the trees ended. She brought her hands up to let her hair down. She still tied her hair back before she ran, it was just easier when you didn't have to worry about a wild head of thick hair getting in your way. But Edward liked her hair down. She let it fall around her shoulders, landing perfectly into place. She wore a pair of dark skinny jeans with high brown boots with a cashmere sweater in Edwards favorite shade of blue.
She saw him waiting for her and she smiled. Seeing him back in this spot always brought bck a rush of feelings and emotions.

Edward could sense his wife approaching, he breathed in her scent and smiled his crooked smile as she arrived in their meadow. She had put her hair down, just how he liked it. He took another breath of her scent before closing the space between then and giving his wife a light kiss upon her mouth. He didn’t linger too long, but he felt it necessary when greeting her.
The vampire ran his hands down his wife’s long hair and sighed as he took in her scents for what must have been the fifth time in a few minutes. With another of his smiles, he spoke to her. “Hello, my love. Thank you for coming, I’m extremely glad.” He said, before his smile dropped and he showed that he meant business. However, his expression was not the menacing look teachers gave their students before telling them they’d done something wrong. His face showed that he simply needed to speak about something, and that it was very serious.
“I’m sure, love, that you know why I asked you to meet me here, correct?” He paused before carrying on, “I am not comfortable with Renesmee being around that ignorant puppy so much. I am sure you are aware of this, but it is becoming too much for me now, Bella. I have had it up to here of him blocking his thoughts from me, and I know it is not my business to ‘snoop’ in there, but when I cannot exactly turn off this mind reading ability of mine I am stuck with hearing his thoughts of songs about mangy mutts. I am sure I know what his true intentions are with our daughter, Bella, and I do not like it one bit. Why can we not break this ‘Imprint’ and be done with it.”
Edward realised he was being… well a bit of a jerk. He knew how much Jacob meant to Bella, and he knew that it was probably making her feel strange that her best friend was constantly around her daughter. “Or can we at least set some boundaries? I have been good to the fur ball, but surely you can smell the stench around the house. It’s not nice. Our cottage was made for us, and Renesmee, not for some mangy mutt as well.”

Bella smiled and leaned into his kiss. She smiled at his warm greeting. She saw his expression grow serious though and knew this was going to be a light date in their meadow.
She listened intently as he started. She hated it when he went off on a Jacob rant. Her smile faded into a frown as she listened. Of course Bella wasn't ready to give Nessie up and it always made her feel a little funny to see Jake and Nes together, especially as Renesmee got older and their affection toward one another became more and more apparent. Nessie was turning into a young woman before their eyes and soon (yech!) hormones were certainly going to kick in. But Jake would always be Bella's friend. He was there for her in her darkest times and forgave her for the terrible things she put him through.
He changed his tone. He most likely picked up on her subtle mood change and reworded his thoughts in a more sensitive way. "Boundaries She said, turning the word over in her mouth. "To be honest my love, the smell isn't what concerns me."

Edward sighed. He realised that Bella was worried about more than the smell, he was too. They were Renesmee’s parents, they didn’t want to even think of her growing older and going and making babies. Heck, Edward had never even thought he’d have a child; who knew he’d fall madly in love with the human named Isabella Swan? Well, probably Alice, but the pixie often hid things from Edward until the last minute.
“Yes, my dear, I do realise this. But the stench is rather overpowering. Imagine having a child running around the house smelling half like that. No that would be disgusting…” Edward trailed off and averted his eyes from his wife’s face for a moment. He’d brought up a baby Jacob now, and he had the horrible image in his head of their daughter and the freak of nature beaming at their wolf/human/vampire Hybrid. That wasn’t too nice in Edward’s mind.
“Why could he not have Imprinted upon another girl. A woman this time. The fact he imprinted on our daughter when she was a mere child was disturbing.” He realised he was going off on a rant again – he couldn’t help it, he was the over protective husband and father. Edward took a deep breath. “Okay, I don’t feel too comfortable with the idea of the two… making love at all. I don’t want to let Renesmee go now. It feels too early. But I realise that if we hold her back, she will end up hating us. What I really wanted to say today was, she will know when the time is right. When she feels she is ready, we have to let her go… No matter how hard it is.”
With a deep sigh, Edward showed that he was only saying this to try and make everything okay. He and Jacob didn’t see eye to eye, but Edward often tried. It was more he could say for the filthy dog. Then again, that was just Edward’s thoughts. And Jacob had been there when Edward hadn’t, yes he realised this. He’d been there to comfort Bella through the dark days of him leaving her. He was eternally grateful to Jacob for this, but when the wolf started singing dog chants in his mind, it made Edward forget this.
“What do you think, Bella? Do you agree that we should let her go when she feels she is ready?”
