I do… Leah muttered in her head. She shrugged and gave Maya a half-smile. “Better to just let it all out now than do it in front of people who’d judge you for it.” Leah said, pulled a blade of grass from the ground and twirling round. She took a deep breath and then sighed.
“Okay, let’s take you home, hm?” Leah said, smiling to her friend. Maya probably needed to have a rest at her house. Leah wanted to get home and tell Jacob about the other Shifters around. She wondered if he knew about them, but he’d have told her if he did. Right?

Maya sniffed quietly and nodded using one hand to push herself off the ground to stand again by the spring. Darcey was sitting a few feet from her looking at her with concerned eyes and his ears folded back. He tilted his head to one side ever so slightly as if to say "Are you sure you're ok?" and she nodded and patted her knee to beckon him over. Dacey's mouth opened into a smile and his tongue flopped out as he trotted toward her. Her ran her hands over his wet fur and he pushed into her knees tail wagging.
"Thanks Leah." She said quietly. There wasn't much she needed to say. She knew Leah understood how nice it was to have someone to talk to. She got the feeling Leah was kind of an outcast as well, especially among the other res girls. Maya had never really fit in well with the other girls. Really Jerith had been her only close friend. And sure, she had guy friends, but there are some things you just can't talk to guys about.
A couple drops of rain snuck through the thick canopy and hit the forest floor. A cup of hot tea and some sweats were calling her name. She knew the house would be empty, it was a late night for her mom, so her and Darcey would no doubt be camping out on the couch in front of the TV. She wondered silently what was on TCM tonight as they walked.

Leah hated the eery silence that followed as they walked through the forest. She enjoyed the rain and if the temperature dropped she wouldn’t feel it. She twiddled her thumbs and breathed quietly. She had too much to think about now; The other wolves, Jacob, Sam and even the bloodsuckers. If they ever touched Maya she’d kill them. Heck, if they touched anyone on the Rez she’d kill ‘em.
Jacob would, no doubt, be round their house right now. With that half-blood thing. Yuck, Leah forced herself not to scrunch her face up in disgust as she thought of Jacob and that thing together. Sam would either be out in wolf-form or with Emily. And where were the other wolves? Maybe they’d be out somewhere. Perhaps spying on them. Leah suppressed a shudder at the thought.
“There’s the rock you saw me at.” Leah said, pointing to the large rock. They’d be at Maya’s car soon, Leah thought.

A rain drop landed on her cheek under her eye. The cool water dripped down her warm cheek. It felt good. As the rock came into view and her jeep in the distance Darcey barked a few times and ran up ahead. He loved riding in the back of her Jeep with the top down.
Then it dawned on her "Did you need a ride Leah?" She asked turning to her as they walked. "I mean I assumed you walked here since there is no other car... and it's raining now." She ignored the fact that they were miles from downtown and it was a long walk even if the weather was nice.

With a smile, Leah shook her head, “Uh, thanks Maya, but I gotta go and get something I left in the forest a while ago. I was looking for it when you found me.” Leah said. She didn’t want to get in the way of Maya and she needed to find Jacob anyways. She would shift into wolf form when Maya was gone and then she’d make her way back home.
“Don’t worry about me, by the way. I’m used to the rain and I’ll be under trees too.” With that, Leah waved and turned around. She walked into the forest, and when she made sure Maya was out of sight, she took her clothes off and hung them on a tree and shifted into wolf form.
She ran fast into the woods, and she heard no one in her mind. She mentally groaned and ran in the direction of her home.

Maya pursed her lips and waved as Leah dashed off again. As nice as it was to have a "firend", assuming that's what Leah was, she was sure a strange girl. She worried briefly and though momentarily about going after her, but Leah has a big girl and certainly didn't need saving. If she wanted to walk home in the now increasingly hard rain, that was her decision. She shrugged and turned around to see Darcey already in the passenger seat, clearly not ready to give up his seat, even for Leah.
She slid into the passenger seat and put the key in the ignition. Her stereo blared as the engine rolled on and she hit the power button to silence it. Her tires spun in the dirt as she pulled onto the road and picked up speed. No need to put the top up. It wasn't raining quite hard enough and the windshield blocked any drops while she as in motion. She let the wet wind comb out her matted locks as she sped down the old paved road through the forest. Darcey barked and looked into the woods to Maya's right. For a moment she thought she saw something, something massive and light at pace with her Jeep. She did a double take and then told herself to focus on the road. It was probably just the pre-rain mist.
((OOC: It's not necessarily Leah she see. I'm not god-moding. It could very easily be another wolf if you want.))
